Fall is for planting and we have some new stuff for spring 2011 now. Hosta Princess Wu. A giant of a lady will bedazzle any hosta lover. I had to buy a hole slug of these just to get one for my own garden. Also new. A red reblooming daylily that has everyone scrambling for pots. Early bird cardinal is now available. Reblooms up to 4 times a year. A must have. Now! Now! Now! is the time to plant iris. We have a slough of great varieties from a local grower. Check them out. Jeff Sherbondy and Nate Didomo have done an excellent jobin the nursery. Jeff is an ISU horticilture graduate filled with tree, shrub and perennial information. Nate is a horicultural sponge who has worked for us since he was 14. Their combined efforts will make your shopping for nursery items a pleasure.

Sherbondys greenhouse is always a treat. First we fill it with the finest selection of plants. A lot we grow ourselves and others we bring in from a myriad of sources. Why buy from Sherbondys? Our plants are in a no stress environment. Some think it is the classical music which softens the petals or the surprise symphony from a passing freight train. The truth is that we monitor the fertility of all bedding plants daily. Our watering means a gentle feed, not a deludge of h20 coming from a novice. John Sherbondy and Bob Baber run the greenhouse. Between the pair of old dogs they have over 90 years of greenhouse experience.
